How We Help
STEM in Roots is an educational initiative centered around addressing educational inequalities present during children's "root" years by helping them build their essential foundations in math and science (STEM).
Weekly Classes
Weekly classes help students who are struggling in STEM subjects build a stronger foundation and deeper understanding. Math instruction ranges from basic arithmetic to Algebra II, focusing on conceptual mastery and problem-solving confidence.

STEM Fair
The STEM Fair is an ongoing science fair program that STEM in Roots has hosted multiple times, giving students repeated opportunities to showcase the projects they’ve developed throughout the year and apply what they’ve learned under Ishmeet’s mentorship. During each event, students present their work directly to Ishmeet, who draws on his experience at international research conferences and the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) to simulate an authentic judging interview experience for students who might not otherwise have access to formal research or experimentation opportunities.

Academic Mentoring & Tutoring
This academic mentorship program is provided to members of Arvin High School’s basketball team in coordination with Coach Peter Pang. Through this partnership, students receive targeted academic support to strengthen their performance off the court so they can continue succeeding on the court.
